42 year old male 6' 290 lbs. lg frame. had elevated liver enzymes enzymes on liver function test. Further tests neg for any form of hep. Results of ultrasound: "Partially imaged pancreas is unremarkable. The liver demonstrates diffusely increased echogenicity. There is a 1.1 x 1.4 x 0.5 cm ovoid anechoic cyst in the left lobe of the liver. No other focal liver lesions demonstrated. The gallbladder is unremarkable without intraluminal stones or abnormal wall thickening. No sonographic Murphy's sign per the technologist. Common bile duct measures 3 mm in diameter" What does this mean?
1.Liver demonstrates diffusely increased echogenicity: Means there is increased fat deposition in your liver.
2.Ovoid 1.1 x 1.4 x 0.5 cm cyst in left lobe of liver is a benign finding of simple cyst - nothing to worry about.
Rest of the findings are normal.
