How Can A Sleeping Disorder Causing Snoring Be Treated?
My mother (age 65 yrs) has sleeping disorder problem. She snores while sleeping. Even though when not in sleep she snores many a time. Every day she sleeps sitting without her knowledge. One day she fell down to the floor. I am very much worried. Please help and oblige. Should I visit a doctor. Then whom should I meet.
What she has is obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. This causes obstruction to the airway while you sleep as the tongue falls back and the muscles of the neck become lax. What she need is to get a sleep study done consulting a chest physician and then decide the further course of treatment. Kindly let me know if any help is required further
