Is There Something I Can Take To Ease The Ain Till Morning?
I can take a lot of pain but this is a doozie. It came on suddenly about eight hours ago. I needed to give a report about 3 hours ago which went smoothly. Since them pain has increased. I am the sole care giver for my husband who suffers from dementia. He is 83 and asleep at the present time. I dare not leave him nor can I take him with me to the hospital. Is there something I can take to ease the ain until morning comes?
hi, i appreciate your care for your husband and your positive attitude. since you did not mention the site and nature of pain, in the view of its sudden origin i suspect it could be a joint sprain or muscle strain. First give some rest to the affected part(in case of limbs) At home you can start with ice compression therapy. Ice packs should be applied at the site to reduce pain. It can be applied for 10–15 minutes at a time (longer application of ice may cause damage instead of healing), 3-4 times a day. Then ice treatment is usually accompanied by the use of NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen), which reduce both the immediate inflammation and relieve pain. If the pain did not subsides or increases after taking rest and cold compression I would recommend you to consult medical provider.
Hope this answers your query.
Wishing you good health
