Degenerative changes of the spine means the wear and tear of the bones forming the vertebrae or the back bone. They usually occur due to the advanced age, use and disuse, abnormal body posturing and gait. They may also be associated with some metabolic disorders and nutrient deficiencies like that of vitamin-D or calcium. Discs are the soft cushion / pad like thing between the two adjacent vertebral bodies. They act like shock absorbers. c6c7 disc means the disc between the cervical vertebra no. 6 and no. 7. In your case this disc is pushed back and is compressing upon the spinal cord. This is abnormal. This could have happened due to some trauma / jerk or abnormal posturing or as part of the degenerative process. It is also compressing the nerve root at this level. It may cause pain or weakness or abnormal sensation in your hands or legs. You need to consult some neurosurgeon or orthopaedician. You may need some physiotherapy, exercises, advise on posturing and routine life. At extreme you may need surgical correction as well depending upon your symptoms and signs.
