Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello - I am keen to get help with the following MRI result: “There is a moderately large left paracentral disc protrusion at C4/5, causing thecal sac effacement and left articular recess narrowing, without significant exit foraminal narrowing. High intensity zone in this region suggests possible underlying annular tear. Mild spinal canal stenosis at this level and bilateral joint mild arthropathy . C5/6: there is a mild/moderate left unconvertebral joint discophytic protrusion causing mild left exit foraminal narrowing. There may be slight impingement on the exit C6 nerve root.” Thanks, Sarah

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello.
Thanks for posting your query.
You might be suffering from degenerative disc disease & it occurs due to repetitive overload or stress to the disc & it increases the risk of disc herniation & spinal canal stenosis.
For this condition you have to do stretching & strengthening exercises in which you have to stretch tight muscle & strengthen weakened ones which will alleviate stress on facet joint and disc.
I would suggest getting this evaluated by an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
Wishing you good health
Regards.
Dr Saurabh Gupta
