Painful Blisters Post A Bite On The Calf, Runny Nose And Cough. Treatment Required?
My 2 year old granddaughter has a small bite on the calf of her leg. She was playing outside on Friday evening. By Saturday it was iteching and red. By Sunday it had small blisters on it. It hurts her to touch it. She also had runny nose and is coughing. This started last night. Do we need to take her to the doctor?
Hello prodgers,

This child needs consultation for the following reason.
Pain 48 hours after the bite is indication of secondary infection due to bacteria. She may need antibiotic.
Ticks are not only present in pet animals: but also in the blades of grass. If your granddaughter was playing in grass, then it is better to take a medical opinion
If the cough is severe and continuous, then it calls for medical consultation. Other wise that is not an indication.
