Red Dime Size Spots On Legs From Knee Down, Swells Up, Sore To Touch, Painful. Cure?
Unexplainable red dime size spots on legs from the knee down. These spots do swell up, these spots start out red and turn like a dark purple brown bruise color. They do not itch or have any pus like spots or a circle around them. They are sore to the touch and ache. Random areas. I have ruled out insects. Can hypothyroidism cause this in your legs and feet? Levels are TSH 146.45, T Free4 is 0.5, T Free3 is 2.3. Age is 48 I am female.
Sometimes hypothyroidism causes thickened skin and raised rash. In few cases, purple lump like rash on the shins of legs.
Rash may be itchy, but generally not painful. Hypothyroidism can also cause hives in few cases.
However, a Physical examination is mandatory to assess this since there are variety of other causes that needs to be ruled out.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have have any clarifications.
