Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Should I Visit The Emergency Room For Enlarged Supraclavicular Lymph Nodes?
I have enlarged supraclavicular lymph nodes for approximately one year but recently they have doubled in size. I have also experienced several occurences of fingertip numbers in all 10 fingers on several occasions which lasts for a short period. I do not have health insurance and I m interested in knowing if a visit to the emergency room might be warranted. No other symptoms other than frequent night sweats but they could be attributed to post menopausal symptoms I suppose.
Hi, thank you for writing to Healthcare Magic. Actually, an enlarged lymph node is a sign that something is wrong somewhere. Coupled with night sweats and age, it is necessary to rule out a malignant (cancerous) process. Some other causes could involve tuberculosis and even HIV, just to name a few. In my opinion, I would suggest you consult an Emergency room doctor for proper assessment and orientation to rule out these conditions. I hope I have answered your query I wish you good health
