Suffering From Anxiety, Stress. Fludac Not Effective. Recovering From Gastroenteritis. How To Relieve Stress?

my mother is suffering from anxiety , stress and she has become very emotional and negative. she has been currently prescribed fludac 20 mg, but she says its not helping her at all, and hence she wants placeda that was prescribed to her few years ago when she was stressed. she is also currently recovering from gastroenteritis and her medications are on. What shall i do to relieve her of the stress

Placida is a combination of two drugs Flupentixol & Melitracen. It is being marketed by some pharmaceutical companies as anti-anxiety drug however not approved and irrational by FDA. So I would advise not to take it.
Whereas Fludac contans Fluoxetine which is a trusted and safe anti anxiety anti depressant drug.
Wait for 2-3 weeks for her to respond to the drugs and consider Tab. Clonazepam 0.5 mg to counter temporary anxiety for short term after consulting your doctor. If she doesnt get well then the dose of Fluoxetine can be increased upto 60 mg per day under supervision of treating psychiatrist.
The other options for her are Sertraline, Escitalopram, Paroxetine, Amytriptiline, Imipramine and several others which you can discuss with your treating Psychiatrist in case Fluoxetine doesn't improve her.
