Suspecting Increase In Amniotic Fluid In The Ninth Month Of Pregnancy. Does It Affect The Health Of Mother And Baby?
Hello Doctor,
This is Kunal from India, my wife is in the first of 9th Month of Pregnancy and our family doctor has advised to have a scan as she is suspecting an increase in amniotic fluid.
I am worried about the outcome due to the increase in the fluid, could you please advise me the health concerns of the mother and the baby caused due to this and what can be done to overcome this problem.
Could you please attend to this matter and an early response will be appreciated.
hello kunal! Suspected polyhydramnios has effects on the babies as 20 percent of such babies are born with congenital issues. so i recommend a tertiary care centre for the delivery of the baby. Mean while monitor glucose levels. i recommend the diet which we use for diabetics ADA diet. Serial ultrasounds complete bed rest to avoid preterm labour, stay in touch near Tertiary care, and Consult doctor to start indomethacin for the mother it will help polyhydramnios and monitor glucose levels frequently. Weekly follow ups are recommended,
Cheers S Khan
