Taking Lexaprop And Klonopin. Weight Gain And Bloating. Due To Medication?
I have taken 20 mg of lexaprop or for a year. Works great 10 in am and 10 pm. Also, klonopin. Started abilify and gained at 30 lbs in 6 months. Mostly in stomach and look pregnant. Only 2mg. Feel bloated and uncomfortable. Was always average weight and small framed. Is the problem abilify and lexapro? Pleas help
Abilify can cause weight gain but it is less likely to do this compared with other medications in its class. Lexapro can cause weight gain as well.It is in the SSRI family of medications and this is a side affect asssociated with some of these drugs.
It is possible that the combination of the drugs is the reason for the weight gain.
You may want to speak to your doctor, if a change in medication is not possible then you may have to consider modifying your lifestyle to reduce the gain.
I hope this helps
