What Causes Bruises All Over The Body While Under Sleep Apnea Test?
i got tested for sleep apnea as I had a blackout one night and woke up with bruises all over my body. I was very fatigued when I saw my gp later that day. Was sent to cardiology clinic for stress test and lasted 4 minutes - while waiting for perfusion stress test was tested for sleep apnea. now the private facility wants me to buy a 2500. machine although I never felt refreshed after 2 week course of trying to test the machine out. I know that you can get a false positive on the machine chip memory if you start to mouth breath during the night or turn over or for any reason the nose piece does not fit tightly enough. Any advice? I go for 2nd part of the stress perfusion test tomorrow after work. The sleep apnea clinic is threating to get my gp to apply to have my driving license affected for 'non compliance'as I have not bought their machine.
I can't think of much that can give you bruising all over the body unless you blacked out because you had something an epileptic seizure? But you would've mentioned that to me if they would've told you that....that's best I can figure. Maybe they sent little gnomes in to beat on you with miniature fly swatters because you didn't want to buy the machine? Who knows? And doesn't your insurance cover anything for the machine? I haven't heard of anybody with insurance who needs to buy that type of durable medical equipment. Alternative to buying it from them....get the model number and type and hunt on eBay, Amazon.com, Ubid, Overstock.com. People sell these machines all the time in great condition at fractions of the cost. You won't want to purchase the tubing, masks, or things through which you'd be breathing....that could all potentially be contaminated...BUT the machine itself you could get way cheaper and I'll almost guarantee somebody is selling one through any estate sale, a family member who recently passed, or simply someone who got one and just doesn't want it anymore. Most of the time the insurance companies paid for them and there was no out of pocket so you'll find people selling them for crazy low prices....I mean...I heard of a patient of mine that picked one up a garage sale (no kidding) for $100.00--- mint condition.
Good luck!
