What Causes Constipation After A Endometriosis Surgery?
Suffering with constipation since my surgery. (hysterectomy, endometriosis, removed cyst from ovaries but (ovaries) not removed) doctor said a it took around (surgery) 5 hours.Took medication for pain about month and a half. How long does it take for medication to leave the body.
Constipation is normal after surgery. You should also take a stool softener, such as docusate (Colace). A fibre laxative, such as psyllium (Metamucil), may also be helpful.
If you have severe constipation, you may need stimulant laxatives, suppositories, or enemas to produce a bowel movement.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
