What Causes Drowsiness After Reading Books?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...

Doctor, Pls advise for the following problem.

Now I am 41 year old Electronics Graduate, After completing my Graduation i.e. at the age of 23 I had swelling near the throat, doctor advised to undergo Operation to get Cyst removed. I got operated. After operation I started my career by working in a company in Service Industry, and parallelly I was trying to read Educational Books, I observed that when ever I read Books I start yawning and feeling sleep and my eyes used to shut forcefully inviting Sleep, till date I am facing this problem. I ignored this problem, now I am unable to grow in Work becoz I have not upgraded myself in this industry. Even Now whenever I Read Book or any educational subject in Internet I feel sleepy. I used to go to bed daily by 10:30 PM and wake up by 6:30 AM, after waking up also I am not feeling Fresh.

Because I could not read further and grow in the society, I could not mix many of my friends, and I dont have any friend circle due to unsuccessful career.

Pls advise.

Hello!
I got through your question carefully and understood your concern.
In my opinion these drowsiness after reading a certain kind of book may be caused by the lack of interest in this book.
I would like to know if you find these books interesting or boring.
This is a normal reaction when you find no real interest in what you are reading or you don't understand it. I don't think that there is any abnormal or pathological thing in this reaction.
I would advise you to find another field, which you can find more interesting and succeed in that. You have more chances to be successful in a thing you really like than in something boring.
If you really have to read these books, I would advise to discuss with somebody of your colleges what you are reading, get new questions to answer and make reading more interesting.
Hope to have helpful!
Greetings!
