i received head trama yesterday went to outpatients today sent home with antinflamtories and flexoral. i am still experiencing pressure on the right side of my skull (i hit that side) numbness in my face pain out through my nose..I hit on back base of skull right side...not sure if i should go back or just tough out this
Thanks for your question, Numbness in face can occur with the damage or dysfunction of the branches of the cranial nerve supplying the face region (trigeminal nerve). Less commonly, it can be due to certain brain dysfunctions or can be psychogenic.
Dysfunction of the facial nerve (as in Bell's Palsy) will usually not cause numbness as it carries innervations for the muscles of the face and not sensations from the skin. Other causes are Peripheral Neuropathy, Multiple Sclerosis, Nerve Injury (Trauma, Positional), Migraine, Transient Ischemic Attack, Stroke, Brain Tumors and etc.
so i sugest that you go for CT scam to find out more about the cause of the numbness. thanks
