my 4 year old has had a runny nose and cough for about 2 or more months now.I think the cough is from him sniffling nonstop since he does not know how to blow his nose. he don't seem to have a fever. some days it seems to bother him alot and today is one of them days. he does not have insurance right now. can this be allergies or something more serious?

Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic.

By what you quote I feel he is having a perennial allergic rhinitis or a seasonal allergy. After evaluation he might require a intranasal steroid and monteleukast along with an antiallergic.

Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health.
