What Could Dull Red, Yellowish Odorless Spotting In Between Periods While On IUD Suggest?
Iam 47 years old. for the last 3 months I have been spoting in between my periods. Sometimes its something dull red like what comes on the last days of menstration. sometimes is yellowish discharge which is odourless. I use and IUD as my family planning method. My email address is: YYYY@YYYY

According to your history the possible causes of your problem are:
-Inter-menstrual spotting can be seen during perimenopausal age due to the reproductive hormonal fluctuation
-Pelvic infection, especially in users of intrauterine contraceptive device can present with increased vaginal discharge which could be yellow in color and can also lead to spotting because of cervical erosion, etc.
It is better to get examined once. Please consult your gynecologist and get examined. By clinical examination the position of the IUCD can be confirmed, and presence of pelvic infection, cervical erosion, etc. can be ruled out. In case of pelvic infection you need to take treatment with systemic and local antibiotics. If she suggests, please go for an ultrasound to find out the condition of the uterus and endometrial thickness. If any abnormality is detected treatment can be planned accordingly.
