What Does Mild Nonspecific Scattered Punctate T2 Hyperintensities In Frontal White Matter Mean?
I had an MRI done and these were the results...can you help me to interpret them? Findings: The cerebral cortical sulci and ventricles are within normal limits in size. There are mild scattered nonspecific punctate T2 hyperintensities in frontal white matter. These are nonspecific but are most consistent small foci of ischemic white matter change or possibly demyelination of other etiology. These can be found secondary to migraine headaches related to microvascular ischemia. The diffusion-weighted images are unremarkable. There are expected flow-voids in the carotid and basilar arteries. No signal abnormality seen in the brainstem or cerebellum. There is no mass effect or extra-axial collection.

Your reports states that there are some signal intensity changes seen in the Frontal ( anterior part of the brain) - This is seen as a age related changes ( if you have given your age in the description - it would be helpful better help). Similar findings are seen in case of demyelination disease also. Other wise its a normal findings in elderly aged patients.
Rest of all anatomical structures appears normal.
Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health. Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
