What Is The Difference Between (virtual)CT Colonoscopy, A Colonoscopy And/or A Sigmoidoscopy?
I am being asked by a medical group if I have had a (virtual)CT Colonoscopy, a Colonoscopy and/or a sigmoidoscopy. I do not understand the differences. I have had 2 procedures. One was through the anus and I was awake and watching on a TV monitor. The other I was asleep and a tube was put down my throat to ready me for a gastric-bypass.

Virtual colonoscopy is when Ct scan is used to visualize bowels. Colonoscopy is insertion of endoscope through anus to visualize all parts of colon. Sigmoidoscopy is limited scopy of lower bowl through the anus.
