What Treatment Is Suggested For Canker Sore On Lower Lip?
hello, im a 33 year old female and i know i have a canker sore on my lower lip. the thing is it keeps getting bigger and bigger each day. i bit my lip last thursday and my symptoms started last friday. ive used many otc remedies but nothing has helped. it just keeps swelling more and more and becoming more painful each day. im afraid of it being a staph infection because the sore itself is a greenish brown color and today i noticed my face and neck also beginning to swell too. should i be concerned? thank you
Canker sores are nothing but aphthous ulcers caused due to vitamin deficiencies, injury, increased stress. These sores usually take 10 -12 days to completely heal. I suggest you take vitamin B supplements and use a chlorhexidine mouth wash to promote healing. Maintain oral hygiene as bad hygiene may delay the healing. If they get very painful, local anesthetic gels can be applied to decrease the pain. If you are having other symptoms like fever, or the ulcer does not heal after 2 weeks then you need to get in touch with your treating doctor. Thanks.
