Which Medicine Should Be Taken To Get Back Normal Hair Which Was Lost Due To Hypothyroidism?
Hi Doctor, i hav hypothyroidism and im on 25mcg thyronorm since 1 and a half years. my hair used to be straight, silky and shiny but have become rough and brittle now, i have very few hair ob my head now. what kind of medicine or vitamins should i take to return to my normal hair
You need increase in Thyronorm dose as thyroid problem is still under-corrected, as manifested by rough/dry/brittle hair.
You may take regular Biotin tablets, which will promote growth of hair. It would be better if you consult a Trichologist who will rule out/detect additional problem of the scalp and hair. Appropriate treatment will restore the hair.
Lastly, a fully corrected thyroid deficiency will itself promote regrowth of hair.
