Why Having Running Nose Followed By Congestion And Pressure Headache?
Had a cold. Had it for almost two weeks. First started with Runny nose and congestion. That went away. Then it was a pressure in my head and caused my ears to have sound be muffled. Then went to a sore throat where Itaisted blood. Now I have the most God awful head ach. What do I have?
The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be attributed to acute exacerbation of Sinusitis. Investigations like complete blood count & X ray of para-nasal sinus will be helpful in clinching the diagnosis.
Management includes: 1. Steam inhalation. 2. Analgesics like paracetamol. 3. Nasal decongestant drops. 4. Antibiotics depending upon culture & sensitivity as advised by your Doctor. Kindly continue them. 5. Antihistamine preparations can also be used to provide symptomatic relief. 6. Maintain adequate hydration & a healthy balance diet. 7. Also make sure that you are well protected from cold, dust & other allergens.
