Why Should I Go For MRI Scan After Gallbladder Removal?

Hi i have just had rctal cancr 14 weeks ago an although i have had my gallbladder removed i have been getting heartburn like pain an have lost a lot of weight an get breathless an tired real easy..........an on a routine scan i have to now go for an mri scan.........why???

MRI is the investigation of choice in staging of rectal cancer.
It shows its extension in surrounding tissues and lymph node status.
MRI is also used to assess residual tumour tissue and you have weight loss also, so MRI is suggested in your case. Further treatment plan depend upon MRI findings.
