Intermittent Otitis Externa. Ear Itching, Scaly. Solution?

Hi, i have severe otitis externa last month. It got heal after i visit ent specialiet. However, right nw my ear still itching and scally. I end up pull out the scalp at night. I use home remedy like cutting garlic clove and put on my outer ear canal. It has help me to reduce itchy and scally. Bt after sometimes, it come again. Pls help me, wht to do.

you should check whether you have dandruff in your scalp or not because the source I think lies there. you should wash your scalp twice per week applying topical itroconazole lotion, massaging and forming lather like shampoo keeping for ten minutes and then wash. This will reduce your scalp dandruff and hence your ear will also see remarkable improvement. Take an anti histamine at night and apply some topical antifungal cream in combination with mild steroid like miconazole plus hydrocortisone daily at night for reduction of itchy and scaly ear.

Hi,
Thanks for contacting HCM
You have history of severe otitis externa . For this disease better to avoid water, oil and ear bud in the external auditory canal and investigate for DM . Put neosporin H ear drop 2 drops three times a day for 7 days.
