What Does My Ultrasound Scan Test Report Indicate?

Question: I went to see my gyno because I missed 2 menstrual cycles. I'm 44 years old and had taken pregnancy test that were negative so I wanted to know if I was menopausal already. A vaginal ultrasound and blood work was done. The ultrasound findings is that there is a fibroid in the anterior wall of the uterus measuring aprox 1.5 x 1.4. there is fluid in the cervical canal. there is a small nabothian cyst. THere is also a 2.4 x 2.1 cm cyst in the left ovary. There is no adnexal mass or ascites. Blood work: LH 8.5, prolactin, serum 10.9, hcg, quant <0.1, FSH 9.1 , Estradiol 48.67 I can't see my doctor until late september and wanted to know what all this means. thank you
Brief Answer:
Can you upload reports please ?
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Would you mind uploading the reports please, instead of typing them out ?
Different labs have different ranges for normal and abnormal, and I would really appreciate it if you could upload the scan and the blood work.
That way I can give you a better opinion
You can upload them on this page itself, or alternatively, email them at - YYYY@YYYY with the subject heading - ATTENTION DR. XXXXXXX
LOoking forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for the reply. I was sure I had updated them. In fact the last page just contained information on the doctor giving the diagnostics of the images and the system did not allow me to upload it.
Hope this helps

Brief Answer:
Explained - you seem to be near menopause clinically.
Detailed Answer:
Hello again.
Yes I have received the attachments.
I have gone through them.
The blood work does not show that you are near menopause.
But the ultrasound scan is completely normal.
The fibroid is too small, and you can just ignore it, it will not cause any issues.
However, I am sure you are reaching a clinical stage of peri - menopause.
This is when your body is nearing menopause, the blood work might not show it, but it will show that in a few months down the line.
This is when you start missing a period or two, and have erratic menstrual bleeding / spotting.
As long as your tests are normal, you should not worry about it.
Continue using protection as ovulation might occur sporadically.
Also, maintain a diary or menstrual calendar to keep a track of your bleeding patterns.

Should I not worry about the cyst on the ovary? Would this also be a reason for missed periods? I've had a rapid weight gain of 7 lbs in the last two months regardless of eating healthy and exercising 5 times a week.
Brief Answer:
Do not worry about the cyst.
Detailed Answer:
That is a very small simple cyst, most likely it will regress in a month of two.
Get a follow up scan after 3 months to check on the cyst.
No, you should not worry about it.
Please get your thyroid levels checked.
Around menopause, it becomes more difficult to maintain an ideal weight.
So you have to work twice as hard as weight loss.
That could be the explanation here, if thyroid levels are normal.
