hello i have a 14 yr old son.. concerned about nose bleeds.. timing is inconsistent..but his nose bleeds are repeating.. color is a pure or dark red.. and will drip constistently - until he blows his nose.. and the desired end result is a clot like substance comes out.. no dizziness.. no temperature..thinking is need to visit ear/nose specialist.. family gp is aware but solution is unknown.. he stands 5 11 and weighs about 260lbs
Hello, Thanks for posting the question to H.C.M. Forum. Epistaxis or bleeding from the nose is a very common cause in summer in India. There are so many reasons of nose bleeding but here is one thing which is very peculiar in your query. Weight of your son is 260 lbs. What is cause of so heavy weight? 90 % bleeding from nose is due to veins. In this case please first take notice of weight, Hypertension ( rare in this case due to age ,but due to over weight may be hypertensive) Blood dyscrasias (bleeding time, clotting time , hemophilia) Acute specific fever, Uraemia. Consult a physician and get in complete examination of blood to find out exact cause of disease. Good luck. Dr. HET
