Didnot Get Periods For One Year. Was Told Early Menopause. Prescribed Progyluton For Preventing Osteoporosis. Side Effects?
Hi, I am 40 yrs old & haven't had my period for almost a year. Doc said that I am having early menopause & prescribed Progyluton for prevention of osteoporosis . After reading about the potential side effects of it, I am frighten to take it. What should I do? Does HRT really benefit younger women going through menopause? I do not have any symptoms of menopause...
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. Even if you are nor having any symptoms of menopause, starting with hormone replacement therapy will reduce the chances of osteoporosis in your case. You can opt for HRT after consulting your gynecologist. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Rakhi Tayal , drrakhitayal@gmail.com
