Recurring Bladder Infections. Home UTI Test Showed Positive Proteins. Healthy Lifestyle With Intake Of Water, Hygenic. Advice
Hell, I am a 60 yr old woman suffering from recurring bladder infections, I did a home uti test .I tested positive proteins. the normal medications that I have been prescribe aren't working. I do moderate exercise, drink lots of water ,tea, and juice and eat a fairly healthy diet. I take 500 mg of cranberry extract. I also am aware that I need to cleanse myself well after using the toilet. What can I do?
Hi Thanks for your query. I would recommend the following measures for recurrent UTIs: 1) Get an Ultrasound of the kidneys and bladder with a post void scan. 2) I would also recommend a n evaluation by a gynecologist. 3) Get the blood tests done to rule out diabetes. 4) If everything above is Ok then speak to your doctor about long term low dose antibiotic prophylaxis. Hope this helps Good luck.
